Add Document Scanning Section

Adding a document scanning section to a package in the Load Definition File editor consists of the following steps:

Step 1

The first step is to select the Edit Existing Package task in the PACKAGES task bar along the left side of the load definition file editor to activate the PACKAGES page if it isn't already activated.

Step 2

The second step is to activate the package that the document scanning section will be added to and select the Add DSS task in the DS SECTIONS task bar along the right side of the PACKAGES page:

The Edit Document Scanning Section dialog box will appear:

The Edit Document Scanning Section dialog box is composed of the following properties:

Property

Description

Document Identification

Identifies the location of where the document being scanned exists.

Data Scanning Parameters

Identifies the URL Path and token-flag if one is defined.

Data Parsing Information

Entries used to identify individual data fields within the input data.

Step 3

The third step is to select the Source for the document scanning section being added:

The Machine Source is the name assigned to the machine access definition within the Scanned Document Source List. To learn how to add machine access definitions see the Add Scanned Document Source topic of this documentation.

Step 4

The fourth step is to enter the Root Path for the document scanning section being added:

The Root Path is the path to the top of the directory tree where the documents are stored.

Step 5

The fifth step is to add the File Retrieval Parameters for the document scanning section being added.

Three buttons are provided for manipulating the file retrieval parameters. These buttons perform the following tasks:

File Retrieval Parameters

Add File Retrieval Parameters.

Delete a File Retrieval Parameter.

Edit a File Retrieval Parameter.

Step 6

The sixth step is to enter the URL Path for the document scanning section being added:

The URL Path is the URL base path which may be used to access the directory tree from the web.

Step 7 ( Optional )

The seventh step is to enter the Token-Flag for the document scanning section being added:

The Token-Flagis a string used to subdivide a document into sections associated with tokens for storage and indexing.

Step 8

The eighth step is to enter the Data Parsing Information for the document scanning section being added:

Three buttons are provided for manipulating the data parsing information. These buttons perform the following tasks:

Data Parsing Information

Add Data Parsing Information.

Delete Data Parsing Information.

Edit Data Parsing Information.

Step 9

After all of the components for the data file section have been defined click the OK button to add the document scanning section and close the Edit Document Scanning Section dialog box.

The document scanning section is added to the package. Notice also the Delete DSS and Edit DSS tasks in the DS SECTIONS task bar are enabled.
