Delete Data File Section

Deleting a data file section from a package in the Load Definition File editor consists of the following steps:

Step 1

The first step is to select the Edit Existing Package task in the PACKAGES task bar along the left side of the load definition file editor to activate the PACKAGES page if it isn't already activated.

Step 2

The second step is to active the package that contains the data file section that is to be removed and select that data file section from the Data File Sections list on the PACKAGES page:

The third step is to either press the Delete key or select the Delete DFS task from the DF SECTIONS task bar to remove the data file section.

The data file section is then removed from the list:

When a data file section is removed, any references to the data fields mapped by this section are removed from the indexes. If the last section in a package is removed, you will be prompted to remove the package since must contain at least one section.
